Go-Box Display by Ed, KCØUKR

The pictures here are part of the KCØUKR "Go-Box" collection. SLSRC would like to thank Ed for his assistance and support of this Public Awareness Day by providing this wide variety of Go-Box designs.

The Go-Box concept is a self-contained VHF, UHF or HF .. or multi band radio setup that will allow the operator to grab it and go, deploy, to provide communications for various events or in support of public safety. The Go-Box typically contains radio's, tuners, power supplies and or batteries and all the cabling and ancillary components necessary to make a completely functional Amateur Radio station.

We are fortunate to have a designer in our area that has both the technical skill and imagination needed to produce absolutely wonderful and functional Go-Box designs - Ed, KCØUKR.

This first design offers APRS tracking as well as communications in addition to provide power connections for additional radio equipment.

In addition to his setup Ed has designed a number of Grab-And-Go boxes of differing sized and capabilities.

Below is a close up view of the Go-Box seen above on the left.

In the grab-and-go design seen below the two radios are powered by two 40AHr gel-cells located below the work space to the left of the gear.

And one of the all-time favorites is, of course, the "Electric Chair" seen here stowed away in the vehicle. You may remember this form the ARES SET of 2007. The Electric Chair Go-Box in not only a complete station but provides build in seating and work space and is completely battery powered.

Thanks Ed!
